Know Classic

Happy Friday! Check out LEC Media’s lastest work for Classic- We love it!

If you’ve got time, we recommend you check out HP’s “7 Days Without Print” presentation, which will be released as a documentary (done by Chase Jarvis) on June 14th at the Guggenheim Museum. People often underestimate the impact print has on our daily lives. We often forget that print is often used to bring data to physical form and give multiple medias a tactile presence. Most importantly, it helps define the products we purchase and the companies that produce them by visually conveying their brand’s personality.

Since we love large displays we thought we’d pass along this awesome piece by T-Mobile promoting the game Angry Birds in tandem with their brand. Great idea!

We thought you might be interested in this awesome interactive projection by Karolina Sobecka. Like much of her other work, in “Wildlife” she uses motion to control the movements and speed of the object being projected. The tiger is being projected from a moving car. As the car speeds up, the tiger runs faster. When the car slows down or stops, the tiger does as well. Check it out!

Here’s a quick article that looks at some of the new directions that Tumblr is exploring now that they have reached 44 million users. Tumblr has quickly become the go-to site for people looking for a way to self publish on the internet in increments larger than 140 characters without having to crack an HTML for Dummies FAQ. It has quickly supplanted older Blogging platforms like Blogger or Wordpress in Google popularity, largely owing the stripped down user interface that intuitively gets people publishing their content in minutes after signing up. As Tumblr starts attempting to curate some of its vast stores of user generated content and generating content of its own through partnerships, can they maintain the simplicity and popularity of their service?

A lot has been said recently about hologram technology due to its recent use at the Coachella music festival. The ability to regenerate a person’s work (music, voice, movements, etc.) and put them on display in a way that mirrors a real life encounter will without a doubt affect the marketing and entertainment industries.

Taking this to the next level involves combining it with other mediums. The potential to combine a hologram with augmented reality could create a very powerful consumer experience. The much anticipated fully interactive storefronts of the future can use this technology. We can’t wait to see who takes on the challenge.

We found this great video featuring a collection of statistics on mobile, social, and the web from @trekkbuzz

Telescoping data and implementing the results across multiple marketing channels has become more important than ever in a ‘do more with less climate’. If you want an in-depth look at where some of America’s CMO’s are at with this broad struggle, we recommend taking a glance at IBM’s recent Executive Summary. It’s a hefty read, but well worth the time if you want to understand why we need to focus on people rather than markets, and developing loyal relationships with customers across all business models.

Here’s a great short film on letterpress by Danny Cooke that we thought you’d enjoy! - via The Next Web
